Baseball Coach Bouquet and Buckets

Our Baseball Season has officially come to an end. I have to admit... I love being a Baseball mom. The energy and excitement at the games is awesome!  Our little 6U team finished 3rd in our Regional State Tournament which was really cool and a lot of fun. GO TEAM!!!

Anyway... to say THANKS to our head coach and base coaches, the team moms decided to go in on a special gift for each of them. One that they would never forget and personalized by each of the players on the team.

OUR HEAD BASEBALL COACH is a girl and she was great! So I put together this Baseball Bouquet for all the boys to present to her filled with flowers, a signed baseball bat from all the players and candy.

Plus a personalized letter that all the boys signed that read...

Supplies needed for Baseball Bouquet:

Wooden Bat (as the center piece of the bouquet and players to sign)
Candy - Big League Chew Gum, Snickers, M&Ms, Whoppers, Twix, Gummy Bears, Jolly Ranchers, Baby Ruth, Rieces Pieces.
Tissue Paper (to wrap the bouquet)
Fresh Flowers (to add to the bouquet)
Black Sharpies (for signing the bat)
Kabob Skewers (to attach candy to the ends to add to bouquet)
Tape (to attach the candy to the skewers and to help hold the tissue together at the base of the bat)
Ribbon (to finish off the bouquet)

Thank You Letter as shown above (we had the boys sign the letter/card as well)

FOR OUR BASE COACHES I filled a galvanized bucket up with sunflower seeds and topped it with our mascot a Baby Ruth candy bar and a signed baseball from all the players.

The thank you card on the buckets read...

Supplies needed for Baseball Buckets:

Baseball (for players to sign)
Black Sharpies (for signing the ball)
Galvanized Tin Bucket
Baby Ruth Candy Bar
Sunflower Seeds or Peanuts (with Shells)
Toy Mascot
Thank You Card as shown above.

Super easy and the coaches loved it! The boys had a lot of fun with it too. They all signed the bat and balls after presenting the gifts to their coaches. There may have even been a little bit of baseball chanting to cheer on their head coach for the great season they had.  Great group of boys... ready for next season!

Classroom Survival Kit

I love pinterest. Anytime I get brain dead and can't think of anything to do for gifts, I immediately go to Pinterest for inspiration and ideas.

For Meet the Teacher last week, I decided to make each of the kids teachers a classroom survival kit. I was inspired by the kit done by Eighteen25. Her version is much cuter than mine. :)

All you need is...
Small storage case with adjustable slots so it will fit your supplies.

Then fill it will all kinds of goodies for the classroom. I chose to do a small first aid kit, pens, pencils, rubberbands, binder clips and more. Office Depot and Target have some fun office supplies that you can get in your schools colors.

Put everything in it's place and close it up.  Add a little label and you're done! Easy Peasy!

Teacher Appreciation

This week was teacher appreciation week and I wanted to do something nice for the kids teachers. They have to put up with my kids all day {or Matthew half a day since he is Pre-K}. Paige actually is a very good kid at school. Matthew on the other hand... well, I am just thankful he has a great teacher. :) He means well, but he just has a listening problem at this age.

I did not have the time to make them something, so to Pinterest I went. There are so many great ideas and links on pinterest, but I decided to go with this free printable from... I think it is from eighteen25.

So, to all the wonderful teachers that put up with all our kids on a day to day basis... THANK YOU!

Oreo Truffle Eggs

I learned this yummy recipe from my SIL and thought I would make some Egg shaped oreo truffles for the kids teachers for their Easter Gifts.  They are sooo good, it is very difficult to refrain from eating any while you are making them.

What you need:
1 Package of Oreo Cookies
1 8 oz package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Bamboo Skewers or other kind of stick with a pointy end.
1 bag of Candy Melts in your choice of color
wax paper

What to do:
With a blender (I used my Kitchenaid), dump all the oreos and package of cream cheese into the bowl and beat, mix and blend until somewhat smooth.

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out balls of oreo mix onto wax paper lined pan. Be sure the pan you select will fit nicely into your freezer. Put the pan into the freezer for 2 hours.

Shape the frozen balls into egg shapes using a plastic bag. I used a gallon size ziplock bag so I could put my hand into the bag and form the egg shape without making a huge sticky mess.

Melt the Candy Melts following the directions on the package and put a stick in the bottom of the egg oreo and dip until completely covered.

Let the candy melts dry (hold them in the freezer for a few minutes) before laying them back down on the wax paper. Remove the stick. You can then re-dip the bottom to cover the hole.

You can "decorate" your eggs with different colored candy melts if you wish.

Cut an egg carton in half or leave hole for a larger gift. Using the small cupcake liners, line the inside of each of the egg holders.

Place your candy covered oreo truffles into the egg liners and tie the egg package with a bow.

Enjoy and have a wonderful Easter!!!
