I love coming up with new project ideas using Jenn Ski's line of fabrics. They are so much fun and when I see her designs come in to the marketing dept, I almost immediately get an idea for a project to make using her panels.
The first project I made from a Jenn Ski collection was from her Ten Little Things fabrics collection. I made this quiet book that featured Chalkboard panels opposite of her number panels.
When Oink a Doodle Moo came in, I knew it had to be another book, but this time it used flannel fabric opposite of the cute little animal panels. Wool letters were added to the book so little ones could spell out words and stick to the flannel pages.
There is even a hidden zippered pocket in the back of the book to store all the little wool letters so they are nice and secure ready for playtime. {unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the inside right now as it is off traveling. I will try to take another picture}
Both of the books, Ten Little Things and Oink a Doodle Moo, are available as Free Patterns on the Moda website.
I love coming up with these soft book designs and now with my own collection, Flats, coming to stores... well... I just might have an idea for another quiet book up my sleeves. Check back next week to see a sneak peek of my new Quiet Book Pattern featuring Flats.

April Showers... Rain Boot Tutorial
Lately we have been getting so much rain here in Texas. Our weather is so unpredictable in the first place, but the term "April Showers brings May Flowers" is definitely ringing true for us this year.
I kept seeing these cute {but expensive} rain boots {aka: wellies} pop up all over Pinterest which got me thinking. This could easily be done with an inexpensive pair of boots, a few grommets, and a little bit of muscle.
So here is what you need...
A pair of Rain Boots {Wellies}
8 X-Large Eyelets with kit
Small Sharp Scissors
Hammer
Chalk
Ribbon
What to do...
First you will want to mark where you want your eyelets (grommets) to go. Use your chalk to mark the location for each eyelet. I placed two eyelets on either side of the boot. You can do just one on each side or more. It is up to you.
Following the instructions on the manufacturers package, cut away the area that the eyelet will be placed and insert the eyelet with your hammer. Small sharp scissors work best for this small cutting.
You are now ready for threading ribbon.
Have your daughter help you if they are for her... she just might have her own opinions on how the ribbon is ties through the holes. ;) These boots were made for Paige and this is how she wanted her bows.
Next I think I might try an extra wide fabric ribbon and tie them to the back of the boots for a new adorable look.

Celebrating with a 3...3...3 Giveaway!!!
Today was such a wonderful day! It was filled with all kinds of 3's....
The Date... April 3, 2013
Today... I turned 33
This morning I woke up to a wonderful surprise in my bed from my 3 Kiddos...
Then they surprised me with 3 wonderful birthday gifts at breakfast...
At my Crossfit OTB workout, the class named our WOD (workout of the day) after me, then made me stand on my hands for a birthday picture, and then they all sang Happy Birthday to me. IT WAS AWESOME! I love my Crossfit Family! These girls rock!
For Dinner, we went out to eat at our favorite family restaurant, Corner Bakery, with my favorite people. <3
It was the best 33rd Birthday EVER!!!! I couldn't have asked for anything more!
SO... to celebrate the last 3 minutes of my birthday, I am going to extend it for 3 more days... because I want to and I can. I am going to give 3 lucky readers a birthday package of 3 of my favorite things....
1. Moda Fat Eighth Bundle of my new collection Flats.
2. A cute little Sketch Pad.
3. My favorite Crystal Finger Press and Point Turner tools made by my Uncle Lee.
All you have to do is leave me a comment with your birthday. That's it! And you just might receive a birthday present from me.

Flats on "the Cutting Table"
Check out the post from Linzee on the Moda Cutting Table blog, A Better "Paper" Doll: Angela Yosten's Flats, to learn more about our little chat about how my idea for the Flats came about.
I am so thrilled to be featured on Moda's blog. Okay, so Yes, I do work for Moda and United Notions as their Web Developer, however I have to admit it is kinda exciting to be on the other side of "the Cutting Table" as a featured Designer!
My new Flats fabric collection will be in stores May 2013. Precuts should start arriving in April!
