This month Roman turned 9 months old.
At his 9 month appointment he weighed 18 lbs 9 oz and was 27 1/2" long.
He only gained 1" in height and weighed less at his 9 month appointment than he did at his 6 month appointment. My milk was also starting to dry up even though I continued to breast feed him. Come to find out, when I pumped to see how much he was actually getting, I was only able to pump approx. 2 oz of milk. :( The doctor thinks that is why he did not grow much so I stopped nursing and started him up on the Sensitive Similac Formula. He has been doing great on the sensitive formula (lactose free) and you can already tell a difference in his weight. We go back for a 10 month checkup just to make sure he is gaining his weight like he should.
Till next month...

Roman Numeral 8
I cannot believe Roman is over 8 months old now.
He is not allowed to grow up so quick, but I guess I don't really have a say in that, huh?.
This past month he has cut two teeth, and is pulling up on everything!
Eating mashed up peaches, bananas, peas, oatmeal, carrots and anything else he can get his little hands on.
He's so

Roman Numeral 7
Roman turned 7 months old in July! Can someone please tell me where the time goes?
Even after having 3 kids, I am still amazed at how quickly babies grow up. In just 7 months this kid has learned how to eat, sleep, crawl, giggle, and is now pulling up on everything!
He has even learned how to do the "blue steel" pose {LOL! That one was for you Aunt Sarah!}.

Roman Numeral 6
Where has the month gone??? It seems like June just started and really we are almost done with June. Oh, well... before Roman turns 7 months old, I thought I better post his 6 month pictures. Maybe next month I will get to it closer to the 5th of the month. hmmm.
This month, Roman had his 6 month well check at the doctor and he got an A+ on his report card! YAY!
Weighing in at 18 lbs. 15 oz (75% range) and 26 1/2" in height (50-75%).

Crawling, walking and talking... JUST KIDDING.. just crawling right now. he he. I am telling you this time is just flying by way too quick... before I know it he will be walking and talking too.
Paige loves to help with some of the baby duties. She loves her baby brother and I am so thankful to be blessed with three beautiful kiddos. Love these kids!

Roman Numeral 5
I know I am a bit late in posting these as Roman turned 5 months old on cinco de Mayo. Things have just been a wee bit crazy here in our household.
I am not sure how much Roman has gained in weight or height, but I do know he is definitely growing. This kid is a chunk!
He has started reaching for items in front of him and putting them in his mouth. The older kids better figure out how to put their toys and things away if they don't want them to get slobbered on.
This past month, Roman got his first ear infection. DARN IT! I was really hoping he would make it longer before catching anything. I am so nervous about giving him amoxicillin because Matthew is allergic to it, that I made the doctor prescribe him with a non-penicillin based antibiotic. He may be fine with it, however I did not want to find out when he is this little.
He can't quite sit up on his own yet, but he is getting better at it.
He even started getting up on his knees in crawling position... this kid just might be on the move soon!
Love everything about this kid! His little personality is starting to show. :)

Roman Numeral 4
I am a little behind on posting Roman's 4 month pictures. I can't believe he is 4 months old... almost 5 months. This kiddo is growing so fast and BIG!
At his 4 month doctor appointment, he weighed in at 16 lbs and 25" long. He is already wearing 9-12 month clothing!
He drools in buckets and loves to giggle and smile. His favorite thing to do... rolling!
That's our bug!

Roman Numeral 3
I keep meaning to post these pictures I took when Roman turned 3 months old, but the time just keeps getting past me. It is so very busy around our household... kids are out of school for Spring Break this week, I am working on some new developments for work, my book is in the final stages at the publisher, Paige is now taking gymnastics and playing softball... well, you get the point. ;)
This last month, Roman has grown even more. I am not sure of his weight or height this month since we do not have a doc appointment until his 4 month checkup.
Still cutting out the Dairy products. I did try to have a little, but it is just not worth it. A much happier baby when I stay away from the dairy. So for all you nursing mom's out there... it really makes a difference. You decide... crying baby or no dairy.
I love watching him change everyday. He is cooing like crazy and even lets out a giggle or two every once in awhile.
He is now a pro at holding up his head when he is on his belly.
Love this kiddo!

1927 Baptismal Heirloom
This past Sunday, Roman was baptized into our church. It was a very special and memorable day, but there was one thing that made his day extra special to me. The baptismal gown that he wore was not just any old gown. This particular gown was handmade by my Great Grandma hee hee in 1927. {that is what we called her because she laughed all the time.} She made this gown for my grandpa to wear at his baptism.
All my Grandpa's 8 kids, 13 out of 16 grandchildren, and 11 out of 16 great grandchildren wore this gown at their baptisms. I was one of those grandchildren that wore this gown at my baptism when I was a baby and now three kids have also worn this at their baptisms.
The gown is made from a very lightweight linen fabric and has two pieces to it... the gown and a slip.
All of the detail work and lace edging you see was all done by hand by my great grandmother. She was so talented and I appreciate her talents more and more as I get older. I absolutely adore this gown and feel so very blessed that my grandmother has saved this for all of us and our kids to wear on their special day of baptism.
Roman was the 33rd child to wear this 85 year old gown at his baptism. It is still as beautiful today as I am sure it was 85 years ago when my great grandma hee hee made it.
