Janome MC8900 QCP

I love it when the UPS man comes to visit my door and brings me packages that look like this...

 Isn't she so pretty! I can't wait to try her out and see how she purrs. {squeel!}

I love Janome machines! My first machine was a Janome Jem and I still have her. She is great for beginners, so she is hanging around for the kids to learn on her. Then I upgraded to an MC6500 which she was my go to machine for almost 9 years. She is still running strong and will still come out to play with MC8900 QCP when she is needed. But for now she is going to give her gears a little rest. She just tends to have a little trouble with clothing since she doesn't have a very small arm to get around at the base. Now, the MC8900, she will be able to do it all!

Now for a name?? I have never named my sewing machine before... but this one needs a name. Any suggestions? Ah... while were at it, why not name all three machines... Gotta be fair, right?

  2. so -- I name everything, and here are my rules for naming (please feel free to use your own)....1. She is a girl. Always. Cars are female, sewing machines too! 2. I like alliteration, so I have Agnes Accord (Honda) and Helen Husquavarna (who would have been Virginia Viking had she been "born" a year later)...so, for yours, I like Jackie, Josephine, and Jasmine.....

  10. Just splurged on a new 8900qcp last month and am working on getting to know her. After sewing on a Bernina for the past 17 years and a Kenmore for 20 years before that, it's kind of like driving a new model of car, and very exciting!
