Hopeful...

Today, we are off to the Hospital where my sweet little girl will be having surgery to have ear tubes put in and her adenoids removed.

Feeling a bit nervous, anxious, hopeful, scared, well... you get the point.

She has had a long history of ear infections, sinus infections, and respiratory issues to say the least and I am hopeful that this helps all of the above.

Please say a prayer for her that she does well in surgery and a couple for me that I stay calm and collected through this very short procedure.

At least this little cutie will be there to accompany Paige during her surgery.

  2. I hope this offers some relief to you and your daughter... my son had 5 double ear infections before he was a year old (and everything else, too!). He had tubes put in at 13 months and had one ear infection just after the procedure and none in the last 2 1/2 years. He was walking around very shortly after the procedure and didn't seem to have any discomfort. Good luck tomorrow, it'll probably be easier for your daughter than you!

  5. Prayers offered up! I know it's nerve-wracking b/c I've watched both my babies go off into surgery. Everything will go well and she won't know what all the fuss is about!

  8. I'll be thinking about you and Paige today! I had tubes a couple of times as a child because of severe ear infections, and I'm sure that Paige will be great! See if you can get her a popsicle or something when she wakes up - it really helps with the dry, gummy mouth feeling and I remember that it made me feel special to be eating a popsicle in the hospital.

  9. My son had a total of 5 sets of tubes put in. Once a year from age 1 to 5. I was always amazed that he immediately felt and acted better... right after surgery.
You will be surprised how she bounces back..
BTW, he is now 17 and has no hearing problems at all..

  11. Both of you take care! My thoughts and prayers will be with both of you! Poor thing must be scared! The daughter of a friend of mine just had her tonsils and adenoids out last Friday. The first day was hard, but after that, she seemed to recover really quickly. I saw her yesterday, and she was as spunky as usual!

  13. oh, katie had that done as well. they say some of the kids come out of it groggy while others come out of it a little aggitated. well, katie took "aggitated" to the next level...she came out swinging and ready to take on the nurse and the doctor. we breed them as fighters i tell you!
i'm sure your little cute adorable girl will just need her mommy and not scare the doctor into wanting to never see another little girl again like mine did.

prayers being sent your way from the middle of nowhere as well!

  15. Best of wishes and prayers for a quick recovery! 3 of my children had tonsils/adenoids out (2 at about the same age as your daughter), so I know how scary it can be even for the Mom!

  18. Good Luck! My daughter had them put in at 2 and had to have them removed at 5, but boy did they do the trick! However, after surgery, she was no where near groggy like they said she would be. She was wired for sound, so be prepared for the opposite of whatever the drs tell you to expect. Best of luck!

  19. Surgery is always rougher on Mom's because it's so hard to watch them hurt. I will pray for both of you. I hope the outcome is all that you desire. Lots of Hugs!

  22. Angela,
I hope paige is recovering nicely! It's tough to leave them in surgery and wait it out. You are such a great MOM. I have done it several times with my kids and I think it's tougher on mom than the kids sometimes.
